When the 1959 zodiac year began
In 1959, the Lunar New Year fell on Sunday, February 8, 1959. The year of the Earth Pig ran from that day until January 27, 1960.
If you were born between January 1 and February 7, 1959, your animal is the Dog (Earth Dog, the 1958 year). People born from February 8, 1959 onward belong to the Pig.
The Earth Pig
In tradition, Earth is linked with steadiness, patience and reliability. Each animal comes around every 12 years, and with the five elements the same combination returns every 60 years. The Pig is traditionally linked with being warm and generous. Read more about the Pig in Chinese tradition.
