When the 1947 zodiac year began
In 1947, the Lunar New Year fell on Wednesday, January 22, 1947. The year of the Fire Pig ran from that day until February 9, 1948.
If you were born between January 1 and January 21, 1947, your animal is the Dog (Fire Dog, the 1946 year). People born from January 22, 1947 onward belong to the Pig.
The Fire Pig
In tradition, Fire is linked with warmth, passion and enthusiasm. Each animal comes around every 12 years, and with the five elements the same combination returns every 60 years. The Pig is traditionally linked with being warm and generous. Read more about the Pig in Chinese tradition.
