The place

The dhamma.org site describes Vipassana as an ancient technique that it says was rediscovered by the Buddha. It starts with observing the natural breath to concentrate the mind, then observing the changing nature of body and mind. It says a Vipassana course is not a rest cure, a holiday or an opportunity for socialising.

Its worldwide listing shows 273 centres and 135 non-centre course sites.
